G. James Daichendt presents and signs Shepard Fairey Inc.

In Conversation with illustrator Robbie Conal
Shepard Fairey is the most influential artist in the world and this text is a critical examination of his art and life. By digging into to the many layers of being an anti-modern artist, much can be learned about the current state of the art world and those that are influenced by the artist. Fairey has challenged conventions, formulas, and traditional borders with much fanfare and criticism. Through the life and art of Fairey, we see paradigms broken and an artist working within an ever-growing platform for making meaningful art. (Cameron & Company)

Tony Fletcher discusses and signs Boy About Town: A Memoir
Apr 21 2014 - 7:00pm

The author of highly acclaimed Keith Moon and Smiths biographies now tells his own story of a life in love with music, taking the reader back to the glory days of the 1970s. This is the story of his formative years in the pre- and post-punk music scenes of London, told via a Top 50 countdown: attendance at seminal gigs and encounters with musical heroes; schoolboy projects that became national success stories; the style culture of punks, mods, and skinheads and the tribal violence that enveloped them; life as a latchkey kid in a single-parent household; weekends on the football terraces in a quest for street credibility; and the teenage boy's unending obsession with losing his virginity. Featuring a vibrant cast of supporting characters from school friends to rock stars, and built up from notebooks, diaries, interviews, letters, and issues of his now legendary fanzine Jamming!, this is an evocative, bittersweet, amusing, and wholly original account of growing up and coming of age in the glory days of the 1970s. "Tales From The Strypt"

With an infamous past that reaches back to the 1920s, The Sunset Strip is no stranger to scandalous and tragic events. From illegal “rum running” during prohibition, to a mob haven during the 1940s, and later the deaths of acting legends John Belushi and River Phoenix, many events have left an indelible mark on the landmark buildings that line the notorious stretch of boulevard.

To quote Stanley Kubrick’s horror masterpiece, The Shining, “some places are like people. Some ‘shine’ and some don’t…When something happens, you can leave a trace of itself behind. Say like, if someone burns toast. Well, maybe things that happen leave other kinds of traces behind.”

With these eerie thoughts in mind, three Sunset Strip staples share their experiences of spine tingling ghostly encounters…

Spooky Music Videos

"Thriller" is definitely in the top running for best spooky music video (and best dance sequence). As Halloween creeps up this week, we ask: What is your favorite spooky music video?

You can try out the Thriller dance moves and more at one of The Strip's many Halloween dance and costume parties on Sunday.
