The London West Hollywood was selected as the No. 1 large city hotel in the continental United States and Canada in Travel + Leisure's 2009 World's Best Awards readers' survey.
The new boutique hotel is situated just off The Sunset Strip. Among its myriad features: a splendid rooftop pool with spacious sundeck and panoramic views of the legendary Hollywood Hills; an inspired meeting & private event space; spacious guest suites with private terraces; dining at Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood; and expertly attuned service throughout the hotel.
“The London West Hollywood is truly honored to receive this coveted award,” said General Manager Vincent Mercurio. “We feel that our property exemplifies the best of Los Angeles and we are very pleased that the readers of Travel + Leisure share our sentiment.”
The 14th annual World's Best Awards are based on a survey made available to Travel + Leisure readers who were asked to rate destinations, properties, and travel companies they had recent experiences with. Hotel rankings are based on ratings in five categories: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value.
Earlier this year The London West Hollywood was named one of the hottest new hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine and was featured in the magazine’s May 2009 “Hot List” issue. The 2009 World's Best Awards survey results will be featured in the August 2009 issue of Travel + Leisure and on Travelandleisure.com.
