As if this year’s massive onslaught of talent wasn’t enough to get your hybrid engine revved, now you can feel good about being a responsible eco-citizen as you rock out to your favorite band at this year’s 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival.

Spearheaded by our friends at Honest Tea, the nation’s top-selling organic bottled tea company, this year’s street fest is committed to reducing The Strip’s carbon footprint with some environmentally-friendly features, such as clean solar energy, additional recycling bins, and waterless urinals.

Thanks to Honest Tea’s relationships with other likeminded brands, including Akeena Solar, C&L Supply Company, Dyson and Further Products, the 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival will include the following “honest” additions:

– Honest Tea recycling bins will help collect bottles and glass used at the festival. The bins will help keep trash out of landfills.

– Akeena Solar will offer 12 Westinghouse Solar panels to provide clean, renewable solar power via their solar power truck, being used to power multiple machines including several 50-inch plasma televisions located in the VIP area.

– C&L Supply Company will install Waterless No-Flush brand urinals in select venues. A Waterless No-Flush urinal can save up to three swimming pools full of water annually (45,000 gallons)

– Dyson is donating and installing Dyson Airblades at select venues, including the Key Club. Airblades use up to 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers, it costs less to run and can help lower a business’s carbon footprint.

– Further Products will be on-site collecting waste vegetable oil. This waste will then be refined into biofuel. Further will then reuse the purified byproduct to help create luxurious hand soap, lotion and candles.

Come experience it all for yourself, and catch The Smashing Pumpkins, Slash, Common, Kid Cudi, Travie McCoy, Semi Precious Weapons, Neon Trees, Steel Panther and 50+ bands! www.ssmf.com
